Install required foundations first and preserve the apps that installed workflows depend on.
Required and optional connections#
A prerequisite is required for the app you are installing. An optional connection adds a supported workflow only when you choose and configure it. The installer explains missing requirements before enabling the dependent app.
Install required apps first. Every installed prerequisite uses its normal app allowance; dependencies do not create extra package capacity.
| Choice | When it fits | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Required prerequisite | A foundation needed by another installed app. | Must be installed before the dependent app. Remove dependent apps first if you need to remove it. |
| Optional integration | A workflow you deliberately connect later. | Does not install another app silently. Its readiness checks apply when you use that integration. |
Follow a clear installation order#
The current platform identifies Invoicing as a prerequisite for Ecommerce, Point of Sale and Payment Gateways. Accounting remains independently installable; its invoice integration is a separate choice.
Installing a prerequisite does not complete its guided setup or approve a provider account. Configure the legal seller, currency, permissions and supported workflow before taking transactions.
- Review the missing prerequisite shown in Apps.
- Install it if the workspace has enough app allowance.
- Complete the required setup, then return to install the app you originally chose.
Remove dependents before their prerequisite#
Removing a required app while another installed app depends on it is blocked. Review the named dependent apps and disable those first.
Disabling access preserves records for later reinstallation; it is not a request to erase issued invoices or financial history. Disposable demo records instead follow the demo’s expiry and purge lifecycle.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
