Link a confirmed appointment to a project, give the technician a checklist and review the completed work.
Dispatch a confirmed appointment#
Set up Tasks, Projects and Appointments in the corporate workspace. Confirm the customer appointment in Appointments. Choose an active project that you manage and an appointment you can access. The verified technician needs both a project contributor or higher grant and a staff or manager grant on the appointment resource.
Check the date and time zone and write a checklist with one item per line. For example, a site visit might require documenting the fault, testing the repaired unit and confirming that the area was left clear. Dispatch assigns the exact appointment. Customers use their existing Appointments link for the customer-visible schedule.
Record the work and its evidence#
After the appointment starts, the assigned technician can open the job, record a result for each check and submit a summary with an evidence reference. Keep the original photos or service records in approved storage and use a stable reference here. Keep customer contact details and access codes in their authorized source.
An unassigned employee cannot open the job. Removing the technician’s project or appointment access also removes access to the job. Project and appointment permissions continue to apply independently.
Close, return or cancel the job#
Mark the appointment completed in Appointments. A different manager with access to the project reviews the checklist and evidence and then closes the job. Return a job with incomplete work and a decision note so the technician can resubmit. Earlier submissions stay in the activity.
If the appointment has been moved or cancelled, cancel the open field job with a note and dispatch a new job against the replacement confirmed appointment. Cancel or reschedule the customer booking in Appointments itself. Billing and parts use their respective apps. Field Service records completion and does not issue a payment receipt.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
