Set stock units and restock targets, record dates and quantities by lot, and review consumption and disposal.
Create a food and set a restock target#
Open Pantry in your own personal workspace. Choose one stock unit per food. For example, choose kilograms and enter a restock target of 0.250 for flour. Amounts support up to three decimal places.
Use one food record for lots you want to count together in the same unit. The replenishment view shows foods at or below the target. It counts recorded on-hand stock, including dated stock awaiting your review.
Record each lot and its package label#
Add a separate lot when a package has a different location or label date. Enter the quantity, storage location, opened date if known, and the printed date type and date. Leave the label undated when the package has no recorded date.
Dated lots appear in printed date order. Use the package instructions and your local food authority when deciding what to keep. Australia and New Zealand use separate use-by and best-before label types. The pantry records your label and storage details without assessing food condition.
Record consumption, disposal and corrections#
Open the relevant lot and record the quantity actually consumed or discarded. The quantity comes from that lot only. For example, recording 0.125 kg consumed from a 1 kg lot leaves 0.875 kg.
If the recorded balance was wrong, use Correct stock with the actual quantity and a reason. Check Recent lot history to see the before and after amounts. Review the latest record after a stale-tab error. Pantry changes stay in the private workspace.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
