Record money in and out, review monthly budgets, and track progress on savings goals.
Open a personal register#
Switch to your Personal profile and install Personal Money & Budget. The personal workspace owner controls this private register. Choose one record currency, a time zone, and an opening date. Add each cash, bank, savings or credit account with the balance just before that date. Enter a negative opening amount for money you already owe on a credit account.
In Set up your private register, choose a Reference country to suggest the currency and time zone. Your workspace country is preselected when it has a reference profile. Use General settings or choose another reference if your accounts follow different conventions. Review the currency, time zone and opening date before you choose Set up register. The reference choice leaves your workspace country and any opened register unchanged.
Singapore suggests SGD and the Singapore time zone. Enter amounts in the currency you select, using its allowed decimal places.
For example, start on 1 November with 250.00 in your bank account and 40.00 in cash. Record movements dated from 1 November onward. Your register uses its chosen currency for every account and keeps that currency fixed once opened.
Record income, expenses and transfers#
Create categories such as Salary for income and Groceries for expenses. Enter the exact amount, account, original date and a description. Use Transfer when moving money between two accounts in this register. For example, move 20.00 from cash to savings to reduce one balance and increase the other by the same amount.
Account balances reflect the entries you record. Compare the register with your own statements when reviewing the month. Monthly cash flow includes recorded income and expenses and separates transfers between your own accounts.
Set monthly budgets and review actual spending#
Select a month in Monthly cash flow. Set an amount beside each expense category you want to track. A 400.00 Groceries limit and 95.50 of recorded grocery expenses leaves 304.50 in the plan.
Revise a monthly limit when your plans change. Each revision keeps its previous amount. A negative remaining figure indicates spending above the current limit.
Track a savings goal#
Add a savings account, then select it for a goal with an amount and a target date. For example, track a 600.00 repair fund in a dedicated savings account. The goal displays the account’s full recorded balance, so a dedicated account makes the progress easier to interpret.
Correct a recorded entry#
Find the original in Entry history for its month, choose Correct entry and record the reason. Voiding retains the original and excludes its amount from totals. Then record a replacement entry if you still need to capture the movement.
After a connection interruption, reload the register and inspect the original record before retrying.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
