Start a private housing file#
Open Renting & Housing in your personal workspace. Give the property a name or reference, select tenant or co-owner, then enter your jurisdiction and agreement dates. Use the dates in your own documents and update them when your agreement changes.
Only the owner of the personal workspace can access this file. Keep original agreements and documents in your own secure storage.
Record rent, deposits, inspections and maintenance#
Add a dated entry with a title, category and optional note or document reference. Rent and deposit entries can include an amount and its original currency. An entry records what you enter and is for your own records.
Use inspection entries to track condition references and maintenance entries to follow up on requests you made through your usual channel. Mark an entry reviewed, reopen it, or exclude an incorrect entry with a reason before adding a replacement.
Review and download a copy#
Review the housing file and confirm the exact version to download the current entries as JSON. Corrected entries remain in your private correction history and stay out of the download.
Archive a closed file and restore it if you need to resume tracking. Check any legal notices, deposit claims or formal inspection requirements with the relevant authority for your jurisdiction.
