Understand passwords, passkeys, recent verification and account recovery.
Password and passkey choices#
Use the account’s security settings to maintain supported sign-in methods. Protect the device and account that hold a passkey.
| Choice | When it fits | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Password | A secret used to authenticate the account. | Use a strong unique value and never send it in support messages. |
| Passkey | A supported device-backed authentication method. | Register through the security page and retain a recovery path. Privileged administration can require recent passkey proof. |
Recent verification#
Some sensitive actions require a recent password or passkey confirmation even after sign-in. This protects credential changes, integration secrets and privileged administration.
Changing profiles does not grant another person’s permissions or replace recent-verification requirements.
If access changes#
Keep the account email current and confirm changes through the supported flow. Use the designated recovery process if access is lost.
A company administrator manages membership in that company workspace; they do not receive your account password or automatic access to your personal profile.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
