Compare an online checkout, a browse-only catalogue, counter sales and visual themes.
Choose the experience you intend to offer#
A selling mode controls the customer workflow. It does not add stock, approve a payment provider or waive app prerequisites.
| Choice | When it fits | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| Online checkout | Customers browse, build a cart and place supported orders. | Requires invoicing and the relevant payment, delivery and policy setup before publication. |
| Catalogue only | Customers browse products and contact the business. | Customer checkout remains closed. Installed prerequisites still use their normal app allowance. |
| Counter sales | An authenticated cashier records in-person purchases. | Uses assigned registers and shifts; it is not a public online checkout. |
Physical goods, services and digital delivery#
Physical goods can use tracked stock and delivery or pickup rules. Services use the supported untracked workflow. Digital goods need private delivery files and the supported payment-gated delivery controls.
Original theme previews use fictional products and cannot take orders. A visual theme changes presentation, not the business’s legal identity, stock or payment evidence.

Explore original designs#
The thirty-design gallery is available at /ecommerce/themes. Previewing a theme does not publish a shop or add sample goods to your workspace.
