Track who paid, split shared costs and keep a private history of settled balances.
Create a group and choose its currency#
Open your personal workspace, enable Shared Expenses & Settlements and create a group for a trip, household or event. Choose a currency and enter two to twelve distinct participant names. These names are entries in your private register. Your personal workspace owner account manages the group.
Group currency and participant order stay fixed. Use a separate group for another currency or participant set. Group amounts follow the decimal places of the selected currency.
Record the payer and split the amount#
Enter the purchase, date, payer and total in the group currency. For example, enter 15.00 for SGD 15.00 in English. Use your interface’s decimal separator without thousands separators. Equal splits include checked participants. For an exact split, enter each person’s share in the group currency. For a percentage split, use hundredths of a percent, such as 2500 for 25%, with a total of 10000. Weighted splits use whole shares, such as 2 and 1.
When a proportional allocation leaves a remainder, the largest fractional shares receive the extra minor units. Participant order breaks ties. The recorded allocations always sum to the original total.
Record a completed transfer#
Use the group balance to see who owes money and who is owed. After a transfer takes place outside Emnaro, record its date, sender, recipient, exact amount and a reference. The amount must fit both current balances. The record adjusts the two group balances.
Correct a mistake by recording a reason and voiding the original expense or settlement. Then add the corrected entry. The original event remains visible in history.
Review and export one group#
The group history lists expenses, settlements and correction events. Review its scope and explicitly confirm before downloading CSV. The export contains names, amounts and references, so store or share the file deliberately.
Archive a completed group to stop changes while retaining its history and export. Groups support up to 500 expense, settlement and correction events each.
Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
