Build a private itinerary and prepare for your trip

Plan trip dates and budgets, record bookings in local time and prepare a document checklist.

Choose trip dates, planning time zone and budget#

Open Travel Planner in your personal workspace. Enter the trip dates, destination and planning time zone. Traveller names are optional private notes and do not invite other people.

Choose a single three-letter currency for the budget and expense records. Enter amounts in that currency yourself. If you need a different currency, remove any active expenses first, then record the amounts in the new currency.

Record bookings, checklist items and expenses#

For a booking, enter the local start and end times and the time zone at each end. For a repeated clock hour choose which occurrence you mean. The planner checks both times, sorts bookings by their actual start, and allows one day on either side of the trip dates for border and time zone differences.

Use a document checklist item for readiness or an expiry date. Keep passport scans and document numbers out of checklist notes. Enter a recorded expense to subtract it from the budget. Edit an item to correct it, or remove it from the itinerary or budget when plans change.

The planner works with manually entered details. Confirm reservations, document requirements and alerts with the relevant provider or authority.

Take an offline itinerary copy#

Review your itinerary, then download a plain-text copy for offline use. It includes trip details, traveller names and booking details including entered references and notes. The checklist and expenses stay in the workspace.

Store the file privately. Archive completed trips to separate them from active planning. Restore a trip to make changes again.

Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
