Plan cash, revenue and costs with forecast scenarios

Choose a completed Accounting month#

Configure double-entry Accounting for the corporate workspace. Enter the last day of a completed month within the supported 24-month window. Close the whole month in Accounting before previewing its posted activity. The snapshot uses the ledger currency and timezone. It includes posted revenue and expenses for that month and the cumulative posted balance of cash and bank accounts through the cutover.

Earlier open periods can still affect the opening cash figure. If the baseline changes before saving, preview it again. A saved revision retains its original snapshot. Use a new revision to incorporate later activity.

State assumptions for cash, revenue and costs#

As the owner, name the scenario and choose one to twelve forecast months. Set percentage changes from the baseline revenue and costs, then enter the share you expect to collect or pay in the same month. Enter other net monthly cash as a signed whole minor-unit amount, such as 15000 for 150.00 in a two-decimal currency.

Describe expected timing, one-off changes and what you included as other cash. This constant-run-rate model starts the first month immediately after the cutover. Use the other cash assumption for net movements outside same-month collection and payment.

Compare estimated sensitivity cases#

Open downside, base and upside to compare revenue, costs, estimated result, estimated cash change and estimated closing cash. For example, ten percentage points of sensitivity reduces the downside revenue change by ten points and increases the downside cost change by ten points. The upside moves those drivers in the opposite directions. Signed source values are preserved. Sensitivity uses the absolute size of each baseline so the downside always reduces revenue and increases costs relative to the base.

Collections and disbursements apply to each estimated month. Closing cash accumulates the resulting net movement from the posted cutover balance. Separate future scenarios or budget targets can be compared by opening their reviewed versions. These projections are internal planning estimates.

Review the exact revision and retain history#

The owner can mark a draft revision reviewed, save a new revision or archive the scenario. An administrator can read the workspace scenarios and their history. An archive retains its versions and prevents further changes.

If a cash balance or category looks unexpected, inspect the Accounting ledger and its posted accounts, then preview a fresh revision. Posting Accounting corrections remains a separate Accounting task. Forecast actions save planning records only.

Keep the active workspace, actual business requirements and current setup summary in view. A guide explains a choice; it does not make that choice for you.
